After years of working with stone and silver, I’ve started sharing videos that showcase the heart of my craft: cabbing and silversmithing. I am excited to share with you all my videos. I have recently started to share on a YouTube channel.
For those unfamiliar, cabbing is the art of shaping and polishing gemstones into smooth, domed cabochons, often used in jewelry. Silversmithing is where those stones find their home—carefully set in silver designs that reflect both tradition and imagination. These two crafts are the foundation of what I create at Tecolote Visions, and now, I’m opening the doors to the process behind it all.
On the channel, you’ll find a variety of videos:
- Step-by-step tutorials on cabbing different stones—from vibrant turquoise to richly patterned jaspers
- Behind-the-scenes looks at my workspace, tools, and creative process
- Time-lapse builds and project walk-throughs showing how I bring an idea to life, from raw stone to finished jewelry
- Tips, techniques, and experiments as I continue to grow as both a lapidary artist and silversmith
My fascination with stones began with their colors, textures, and stories. Through cabbing, I get to highlight the natural beauty hidden inside each rough. Silversmithing, meanwhile, allows me to transform those polished pieces into meaningful, wearable art. It’s an ongoing journey of learning and creating, and I’m thrilled to share it with a wider community.
Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, I hope my videos offer something of value—be it knowledge, inspiration, or simply appreciation for the craft. And if you’re a collector or admirer of handmade jewelry and stones, I think you’ll enjoy seeing the care and detail that goes into each piece.
So if you’re curious about the process, passionate about stones, or just want a closer look at how things are made here at Tecolote Visions, I’d love for you to check out the channel. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or let me know what you’d like to see next—I’m always up for new ideas and conversations.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Happy cabbing and silversmithing—I’ll see you on YouTube!
