Wood carving is a form of woodworking that I’ve been passionately practicing for over twenty-five years. Using handheld cutting tools, I transform raw wood into figures and sculptural designs, adding depth and character to each piece.

My journey began when I helped my sons earn their Whittling Chip as Webelos in the Cub Scouts. As I carved alongside them, I discovered the joy of revealing the hidden beauty beneath the bark. What started as a simple activity soon blossomed into a fulfilling hobby and, eventually, a lifelong craft. The types of wood I work with vary depending on the piece, but no matter the material, I pour expression, emotion, and intent into each carving. From Celtic knots to intricate owl sculptures and custom walking sticks, every project is an opportunity to refine my skills and explore new creative directions.

I work out of my home workshop and my beloved “man-cave” in Woodstock, GA, where I am constantly challenging myself to push the boundaries of my craft. Each piece I create carries personal meaning—like the walking stick I made for my wife, Terri. It took countless hours to craft, but the beauty and significance of that piece will always be priceless to me.

Carving is an ever-evolving journey, and I’m always striving to reach new heights. There is always another level to explore, another technique to master, and another design to bring to life. My art is never truly finished—there’s always room for growth and improvement. With every project, my craft continues to evolve, and I embrace the opportunity to create something meaningful and enduring.
